Rondeau Jetty 5 Rehabilitation

MUNICIPALITY OF CHATHAM-KENT, ONTARIO
DESCRIPTION:
Rondeau Harbour is located at the west end of Lake Erie, approximately 30 km south-east of Chatham, Ontario. The harbour is an active commercial fishing facility under the administration of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. This project consisted of the complete removal and replacement of a Jetty for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans at the Rondeau Fisherman’s Basin in Erieau, ON. The project included:
  • Complete removal of the existing precast concrete slabs and wooden piles using a barge, excavator, and crane
  • Drive new open ended  steel pipe piles with mobile pile driver positioned on a barge
  • Fabricate and install structural steel frame/support system, form and pour new concrete deck
  • Reinstall existing rubber fenders around perimeter of deck
  • Fabricate and install new steel curbs around perimeter of deck
  • ​Install electrical receptacles on Jetty.
