DESCRIPTION:
Work for this contract included the construction of a water supply facility at 25 Strange Street in Kitchener, the removal of existing above and below ground storage reservoirs, decommissioning and removal of underground piping, restoration of the Heritage Pumping station onsite, and a building addition to house extensive underground tankage as well as new treatment equipment. The project consisted of:

• Potable water treatment plant system replacement and upgrades, including greensand filters, high lift pumps, chlorination chemical feed system, and specialized pressure sustaining / control valve. This valve was specified and built to the Region's requirements and specifically commissioned and calibrated to meet their pressure zone needs. 
• Coordinating pre-purchased, novated purchase order agreement with $2.7 million greensand filter package. Ensure timely delivery, installation and commissioning with specialty subcontractor assistance as needed. Pumps - 3 low lift and 3 high lift pumps to feed the treated water into the distribution system. 
• Working with pump supplier through the shop drawing and manufacturing process. Ensure timely delivery, installation and commissioning with specialty subcontractor assistance as needed. 
• Construction of secant shoring caisson wall and steel sheet piling retaining walls. Scope of work includes dewatering and groundwater control, helical piles, excavation, site works and yard piping. Protection of adjacent natural watercourse. 
• Construction of structural steel building, and reinforced concrete tanks and foundations. Process mechanical work with chlorination systems, greensand filters, pressure sustaining systems, high lift pumps. Electrical and SCADA integration.
